Our Story
The Journey of Ability Foundation
Established in 2009 in Pulikkal, Malappuram District, Kerala, Ability Foundation began with a simple yet powerful vision — to create an inclusive society where differently-abled individuals are empowered to lead independent and dignified lives.
What started as a compassionate initiative by socially committed visionaries gradually evolved into one of Kerala’s leading institutions for disability empowerment and rehabilitation.
Over the years, the organization expanded its services to include educational institutions for hearing impaired students, therapeutic and rehabilitation centres, vocational training facilities, talking book libraries, placement and guidance centres, as well as accessible infrastructure and sports facilities.
Today, Ability Foundation stands as a symbol of hope, transformation, and opportunity for thousands of differently-abled individuals and their families.
Our Achievements and Awards
2019
State Award for the Best Institution for the hearing impaired to Ability Arts and Science College for Hearing Impaired, instituted by the department of Social Justice, Government of Kerala.
2022
State Award for the Best NGO functioning for the empowerment of PWDs to Ability Foundation for the Disabled, instituted by the department of Social Justice, Government of Kerala.
2025
State Award for the Best Accessible Institution for the differently abled to Ability Foundation for the Disabled, instituted by the department of Social Justice, Government of Kerala.
